Parking/Clean-up

This
position helps cyclists find parking places and keeps them from
parking illegally (i.e. blocking fire hydrants, accessible spaces,
loading docks). These volunteers will also assist with clean
up when the area has cleared. Volunteers will work from 5am – 9am.

This
position assists with setting up for the start of the Tour de
Doughnut - whatever needs to be done - from hanging banners and
signs, bike compound setup, setting up tents, etc. BRING A
PAIR OF WORK GLOVES. Volunteers
will work from 6am – 8am.

They will also tear down the stops after the event.

Sun
& Ski Sports Store is on the east side of the Mall (Houston side
of Mall) closest to the freeway. Volunteer Coordinators will have
lists of all the volunteers and assigned areas.

will work from 6am – 11am.

ChampionChip
Team (Start)

Volunteers Needed

This
team of volunteers will place the ChampionChip timing device on the
rider’s bikes. This
activity will obviously require bending over and squatting as you
place the chip on each bike. Please
be certain that you are in good enough condition to participate as a
volunteer for this service. Volunteers
will work from 6am – 9am.

Day
of Event Registration at Katy Mills Mall Sun & Ski Sports Store

Day
of Event Registration takes place at Katy Mills Mall Sun & Ski
Sports Store. This position will register cyclists who are riding in
the tour.
Volunteers
will work from 6am – 9am.

Packet

For
those individuals that did not pick up their race packets at one of
the Sun & Ski Sports stores prior to the day of the event, they
will be able to collect their packet the morning of the ride.
These volunteers will distribute these packets.
Volunteers will work from 6am – 9am.

Doughnut
Stop –
There are two Doughnut Time Stops on the Tour.
These are the stops where riders eat doughnuts to knock time
off of their ride. Volunteers
at this stop will be busy handing out doughnuts and counting the
number of doughnuts eaten per rider.
Rest
Stop 1 will need to covered from 8am-11am, and Rest Stop 4 from
8:30am – 4pm.

Stop
– Rest stops number 2 and 3 are on the 55-mile route.
Rest Stop
2 will need to be covered from 8am-2pm and Rest Stop 3 from 9am
–4pm.

This
position cheers on our cyclists as they cross the finish line!
Bring out your noisemakers, air horns, whistles, bells…whatever
makes noise. This will help in the festivities and excitement
as cyclists come across the finish line.

you don’t have a specific request, we will position you based on
our needs. Regardless of the position, we guarantee it will be
fun!!

Communications
These
positions are filled
|
|
HAM
Radio operators will be stationed at every watering hole along the
route also with mobile units in place on patrol. Gold Wing
motorcycles will also be on patrol as mobile units. These
folks make sure we have constant communication with base camp as
well as on the route. With their help…we can talk to anyone
at anytime…anywhere! These positions have been covered.
